RMU Men’s Lacrosse Falls at Cleveland State

CLEVELAND – Cleveland State used a nine-goal second half to get past the RMU men's lacrosse team in its 13-6 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Colonials fall to 2-6, 1-2 ASUN while the Vikings improve to 5-3, 2-0 ASUN.

1st QUARTER
Cleveland State got on the board early, finding the back of the next one minute into play. The Vikings held the lead until Kean Moon found Eric Swagerty for a goal with 30 seconds remaining.
 
2nd QUARTER
The Vikings scored the only three goals of the quarter to take a 4-1 lead into halftime.
 
3rd QUARTER
Moon tallied his second point of the game on a helper from Elliot Holden at 10:54. Swagerty set up Will MacLeod and Joel McCormick to get RMU within three at 7-4 at 4:43. CSU closed out the quarter by scoring the last two goals.
 
4th QUARTER
The Vikings continued their momentum by scoring the first three goals of the 4th quarter to go ahead 12-4. Nick Pelletier got a man-up goal from Holden before Tommy Mullikin found Holden for his third point and first goal of the afternoon.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Bo Columbus led the Colonials with eight ground balls, as a team RMU had 30
  • The Colonials were 2-for-4 in extra man opportunities

RMU returns to Joe Walton Stadium on March 30th for a matinee contest against Mercer. This is RMU's Youth Day as all youth lacrosse players are invited to the men's match at 11 a.m. and the women's match against Detroit Mercy that begins at 2 p.m.
