MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU softball returns to #HLSB action, as they host IUPUI for a three-game series. The first game of the series is scheduled for Thursday, March 28 at 3:00 PM. A double-header will be played on Friday, with first pitch at 1:00 PM. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.
RMU LATELY
RMU (6-13, 1-2 #HLSB) recently played a two-game series on their home field, sweeping Akron by scores of 8-4 and 5-0. In game one, leadoff hitter
Kaylyn Hopf and junior
Alaina Koutsogiani both registered a team-high two hits.
Logan Black hit her first home run of the year, hitting a solo shot to deep left field. First baseman
Avery Winchell hit her first career grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning as the score was tied, 4-4. With four runs batted in, she tied her career-best four RBI's in one game. She did so earlier in the season at Stetson (3/9). Starting the game in the circle,
Jaimee Hardy went five innings and retired two batters.
Jane Garver earned the win, pitching the last two innings and paced for two strikeouts.
In game two, four separate players recorded a hit.
Anna Resnik tied her career-high in runs batted in, producing three. From Elizabeth, Pa., this was her third time recording a 3-RBI game. Showing patience at the plate,
Katlyn Jardine and
Faith Miller both paced for two walks. In the shutout, freshman
Kailani Tatro started the game. She threw for four innings, collecting two strikeouts and her first career win.
Kaitlyn Molitoris pitched the final three innings of the contest. To close out the game, the freshman out of Montour High School retired a career-high five batters in her appearance.
HEATING UP
RMU is riding a three-game win streak, outscoring their opponents, 20-10. Dating back to the series at Stetson, graduate
Avery Winchell owns an eight-game hitting streak. She owns 12 runs batted in across those contests. Freshman
Kaylyn Hopf has produced a hit in 10 of her last 12 games. And,

The first meeting happened all the way back in 1991 at a neutral site where RMU won 4-1. 30 years later, RMU joined the Horizon League conference and have faced IUPUI every year since 2021. SCOUTING IUPUI
IUPUI (5-23, 1-2 #HLSB) arrives in Moon Township currently on a four-game losing streak. Their most recent win was a 7-0 shutout victory over Cleveland State (3/15) in the Jaguars first #HLSB game of the 2024 season.
