HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – NKU's seven unanswered runs helped propel the Norse to a 7-4 victory. RMU is now 12-19 overall and 7-8 in the Horizon League. NKU holds a 17-14, 10-5 #HLSB record.
GAME 3
- After neither team scored through the first three innings, the Colonials broke through in the top of the fourth.
- With a runner on base, Courtney Poulich blasted a 2-run homer to deep right center field to give RMU a 2-0 lead.
- Over the next three innings, the Norse earned seven unanswered runs to take a 7-2 lead heading into the final inning.
- Entering the top of the seventh, the Colonials attempted to come back late.
- Avery Winchell started off the inning with a solo bomb.
- Charlotte Grover then singled down the right field line which brought in Faith Miller to home.
- Unfortunately, RMU's come back ended too soon and the Norse won the final game of the series, 7-4.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Although falling in the series finale, the Colonials still won the series, picking up two wins. In today's outing the Colonials outhit the Norse, 10-7. Four different players produced two-hit games. Offensively,
Avery Winchell cranked her fourth home run of the campaign and
Courtney Poulich recorded her second.
UP NEXT
RMU will play their final home series of the 2024 campaign this upcoming weekend. Against Cleveland State, the series is scheduled for April 19-20. Saturday's double-header will be Senior Day and Youth Softball Day.
