MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU softball will welcome Cleveland State for their final home series of the 2024 campaign. A double-header will start at 2:00 PM on Saturday and the series finale will be played on Sunday at 12:00 PM. The Colonials will then have a quick turnaround and travel north to face Detroit Mercy in a two-game series on Monday, April 22. First pitch in Detroit is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
RMU LATELY
RMU (12-19, 7-8 #HLSB) returns home after picking up a series win at Northern Kentucky this past weekend. The Colonials won the first two games by a score of 5-2 and 1-0. NKU then earned one win in game three of the series, 7-4. In RMU's 5-2-win, senior
Catalina Saxen was a catalyst hitting in the three-hole, producing two runs batted in.
Courtney Poulich and
Alaina Koutsogiania each scored two runs in the victory. For game two of the series, in a low-scoring contest, the Colonials one run happened off an error.
Logan Black reached first on a fielding error by the Norse's third baseman which advanced
Kaylyn Hopf to home. Senior
Jane Garver pitched five innings and three strikeouts in the shutout.
Madison DeVault recorded her second save of the day, throwing for the final two innings and paced for four strikeouts. Over the 7-4 loss,
Courtney Poulich cranked her second career home run and
Avery Winchell blasted out her fourth homer of the campaign.

Avery Winchell enters her final home series of her career with 99 career hits. From New Cumberland, Pa., she's produced 69 runs and 66 RBI's in five years at RMU. Also, after reaching the century mark in hits this past weekend,
Alaina Koutsogiani is on the peak of eclipsing 50 RBI's. The junior from Peters Township owns 46 runs batted in to date.
