YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – RMU softball's season ends after falling to Cleveland State, 7-0 and Northern Kentucky, 5-0. The Colonials finish out the 2024 campaign with a 20-24 overall record.
VS. No. 3 CLEVELAND STATE
- The Vikings gathered a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.
- In the second inning, Cleveland State tacked on two more runs, making it 6-0.
- CSU added one more run in the third inning off a sacrifice fly, taking a 7-0 advantage.
- Neither team scored in the last four innings as Cleveland State won, 7-0.

Both teams recorded seven hits each.
Kaylyn Hopf,
Anna Resnik and
Courtney Poulich all registered two hits each. Senior
Charlotte Grover earned one walk. In the circle,
Kaitlyn Molitoris recorded the first two outs of the game. Junior
Jaimee Hardy finished out the last 5.1 innings.
VS. No. 4 NKU
- Starting off the first inning, NKU powered ahead, scoring five runs, including two home runs.
- Over the next six innings with a long weather delay, both teams didn't record another run.
- The Norse won 7-0 and advanced to the #HLSB Championship game. They'll have to beat No. 3 Cleveland State twice tomorrow to win the conference championship.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
The Norse outhit the Colonials, 5-4 in the semifinal contest. Winchell, Saxen, Ehrman and Matheny each recorded a hit. Winchell also paced for a walk as did Grover and Hopf. Senior pitcher
Jane Garver started the game in the circle, throwing for the first inning and earning two strikeouts. From Dover, Ohio,
Madison DeVault threw for the next five innings. She only allowed two hits and registered four strikeouts.
