MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's soccer team is set for two games this week, starting with their final non-conference matchup against Canisius on Tuesday, October 1, at 3:00 PM at Montour Junction. They will then travel for a Horizon League match against Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, October 5, at 1:00 PM. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
RMU LATELY
RMU (4-3-2, 2-0-1 #HLMSOC) split their two matches last week, losing to St. Bonaventure 2-1 and defeating Milwaukee 1-0 in conference play. Junior
Anass Hadran scored RMU's only goal against St. Bonaventure, converting a penalty kick in the 82nd minute. Against Milwaukee,
Chase Gilley scored his third goal of the season, assisted by his brother
Logan Gilley. Chase now has 11 career goals with RMU.
STRONG START
RMU's 2-0-1 start in Horizon League play marks their best beginning since joining the conference in 2020. In their first three games, they've outscored their opponents 4-2, continuing their strong form from the 2022 season where they outscored opponents 7-1 through three matches.
ALL-TIME VS. CANISIUS
RMU and Canisius have met 18 times since 1991, with the Colonials leading the series 9-6-3. The two teams last played in 2018, with RMU outscoring Canisius 41-24 overall in the series.
SCOUTING CANISIUS
Canisius (2-5-1, 0-1 #MAAC) enters the match after a 3-0 loss to Manhattan in their first conference game. They've faced common RMU opponents such as Mercyhurst, Duquesne, St. Bonaventure, and Saint Francis. Michael Switala leads the team with three goals, while AJ Zarcone has one goal and has played every minute this season. In goal, Jack Petrie has two clean sheets with 31 saves.
ALL-TIME VS. PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Since 2020, RMU has a 2-1-1 record against Purdue Fort Wayne, outscoring the Mastodons 5-3 in those matches. Last season, RMU won 3-0, scoring three goals in the first 16 minutes.

SCOUTING PURDUE FORT WAYNE
PFW (5-3-1, 2-1-0 #HLMSOC) is coming off their first Horizon League loss, falling 4-0 to Wright State. Previously, they had two conference wins over Green Bay and Milwaukee. Shane Anderson leads the team with six goals, while Felipe Medina has a team-high three assists. In goal, Nic Diana has five shutouts and a 5-2-1 record.
