MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU Volleyball team, winners of five of its last six matches, open the home portion of Horizon League play against Oakland on Saturday and Sunday at the UPMC Events Center. Both matches start at 2 p.m.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (6-8. 2-1 HL) dropped its first HL match on Tuesday evening at Youngstown State. Outside hitter
Jocelyn Jourdan is the league's reigning player of the week after averaging 5.13 kills and 2.88 digs per set while hitting .272. Jourdan is sixth in the HL with 168 kills and sixth with 3.36 kills per set.
Keira Hornung leads the league with 1.29 blocks per set and
Addyson Butts is atop the aces list with 0.61 per set. RMU is 3-2 at home this season.
OAKLAND LATELY
The Golden Grizzlies (1-14, 1-2 HL) picked their first victory Tuesday night in a 3-2 triumph over Cleveland State. Oakland is 0-7 on the road this season. The Golden Grizzlies lead the league with 15.43 digs per set.
THE SERIES
The Colonials and Golden Grizzlies began the series in 1999, with Oakland holding a 13-3 all-time advantage and 9-1 in HL matches.
UP NEXT
The team remains at home, hosting IU Indy on Friday, Oct. 10 and Saturday, Oct. 11.
