MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The RMU women's hockey program has added four dynamic forwards to its roster, continuing to strengthen its foundation for the future. The Colonials officially welcome Ava Vrana (Kingston, ON) and Rio Pierre (Winnipeg, MB) for the 2026-27 season, while Madison Sialtsis (Stouffville, ON) and Eden Hamel (Coquitlam, BC) have signed their commitments to join RMU in the fall of 2027.

"Our staff has worked tirelessly over the past few years to reestablish our recruiting presence and continue building this program the right way," said Head Coach Logan Bittle. "We couldn't be more excited to welcome Ava and Rio into our program next year and to have pen to paper with both Madison and Eden as we bolster our depth moving toward a strong 2027 incoming class. All four of these young women represent what it means to be a Colonial - both on and off the ice - and we're thrilled to make things official."

Ava Vrana | Forward | Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves (Kingston, ON)
A skilled playmaker and energetic forward, Vrana brings a mix of offensive creativity and compete level that make her a constant threat in all zones. Known for her ability to find open ice and make plays under pressure, she's been a spark plug for the Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves, consistently finding her way onto the scoresheet in key moments.

Her arrival at RMU will also mark a unique family milestone, as she'll join her older sister Alexis Vrana, a current forward with the Colonials. The two previously shared the ice at the minor hockey level in Kingston and will now reunite as teammates at the collegiate level - a special twist in their shared hockey journey.

Rio Pierre | Forward | Kingston Jr. Ice Wolves (Winnipeg, MB)
A powerhouse forward from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Pierre made the jump to the OWHA this season after an outstanding career in the Manitoba Female Hockey League, where she set the single-season record with 58 points in just 23 games. Including tournament play, she amassed over 100 points - a testament to her elite scoring touch and consistency.

Since joining Kingston, Pierre has continued to dominate offensively, leading the Jr. Ice Wolves in production. A member of the Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation, she has also represented Team Manitoba at the U18 National Women's Championship and the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships. Pierre's blend of power, skill, and relentless compete level make her a perfect fit for the RMU style of play.

Madison Sialtsis | Forward | Whitby Jr. Wolves (Stouffville, ON)
Set to join the Colonials in the fall of 2027, Sialtsis has been a standout for the Whitby Jr. Wolves, known for her speed, tenacity, and ability to shake off defenders. She brings a high motor and infectious energy that elevates everyone around her.

Madison was such a strong fit for RMU's culture and playing style that the staff was eager to secure her commitment early. She'll continue her development with the Whitby Jr. Wolves through the 2026 season in the OWHA, preparing to make an immediate impact when she arrives in Moon Township. Her leadership, positivity, and competitive drive embody exactly what it means to be a Colonial.

Eden Hamel | Forward | Shawnigan Lake (Coquitlam, BC)
Hailing from Coquitlam, British Columbia, Hamel is a two-way forward with a relentless motor and physical presence. In her debut season with Shawnigan Lake, she posted over 30 points and continues to build on that success this year. Her combination of grit, consistency, and skill make her a versatile forward capable of impacting the game in multiple ways.

Eden has also represented Team BC at the Hockey Canada U18 National Championship, gaining valuable experience at the national level. She is set to officially join the Colonials in the fall of 2027.
