MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Matt Clark's 33-yard game-winning field goal as time expired lifted Duquesne to a 20-17 victory over Robert Morris on Saturday evening at Joe Walton Stadium.
The Dukes (7-5, 5-2 NEC) got on the board first on a 71-yard touchdown pass on their first possession in the 1
st quarter. RMU (3-9, 2-5 NEC) answered when
Cooper Panteck found
Chaz Middleton for a 19-yard touchdown at the 8:36 of the 2
nd quarter. The Colonials took a 10-7 halftime lead on
Jayson Jenkins' 23-yard field goal.
Duquesne would go ahead 14-10 midway through the 3
rd quarter before
Kai Holloway took a punt 61 yards to paydirt with 12:27 remaining in the 4
th quarter to give RMU a 17-14 lead. Clark would connect from 34 yards with 8:18 remaining before hitting the game-winner.
Panteck finished the game 14-33 for 178 yards.
Ethan Shine rushed for 76 yards and
Thomas Lee caught three balls for 77 yards including a 63-yard catch in the 1
st quarter.
Mitchell Robinson Jr. made 10 stops while
Noel Roach,
Patrick McDonnell and
Trey Woods each had eight.
