MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. – Redshirt junior goaltender
Maggie Hatch delivered her second shutout of the season and the fifth of her career on Saturday afternoon, backstopping RMU to a 3-0 victory and a crucial 5-of-6 points in the weekend series at Lindenwood. With the win, the Colonials improve to 6-11-1 overall and 4-5-1 in Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) play.
FIRST PERIOD
RMU weathered an early surge from the Lions before capitalizing quickly on their first sustained offensive look.
Just 2:23 into the game, sophomore defenseman
Mya Kearns snapped home her first career goal, finishing a setup from
Kaitlyn Schooley to give the Colonials a 1-0 lead.
The Lions pushed back, outshooting RMU 12-9 in the opening period, but Hatch remained sharp to preserve the advantage through 20 minutes.
SECOND PERIOD
The middle frame tilted heavily toward RMU, even though the scoreboard remained unchanged.
The Colonials generated consistent pressure, outshooting Lindenwood 12-5 and earning three power plays in the period.
THIRD PERIOD
The Colonials needed just 28 seconds of the third period to create separation.
On the power play,
Jessica MacKinnon buried her second power-play goal in as many games, extending the lead to 2-0.
Morgan Giannone and
Linnea Misner picked up assists as RMU's special-teams success continued.
With RMU locking down defensively and limiting Lindenwood's looks, the Colonials sealed the win in the final minute. With 1:08 remaining, freshman forward
Rowyn Ringor scored her first goal as a Colonial, giving RMU a 3-0 cushion.
Catriona Crarer and
Emma Goding added assists on the insurance marker.

- RMU outshot Lindenwood 34-29, led by Emma Goding's seven shots on goal.
- The Colonials once again excelled in the faceoff circle, winning 31 of 56 draws (55.4%). MacKinnon anchored the effort, going 12-for-16 (75.0%).
- Five players — MacKinnon, Kearns, Schooley, Alaina Giampietro and Laura Eustace — finished with a team-best +1 rating.
- Shayne Desjardins led the defensive effort with three blocked shots.
- RMU special teams shined, going 2-for-7 on the power play and a perfect 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
FIRST CAREER GOAL
Sophomore defenseman
Mya Kearns made her milestone moment count, scoring the eventual game-winner for her first collegiate goal. The Canonsburg, Pa. native now has one goal, seven assists and eight career points.
SHUTOUT HISTORY
With her 29-save performance,
Maggie Hatch notched the fifth shutout of her career, moving her into fifth place on RMU's all-time shutouts list. The program record belongs to Jessica Dodds, who compiled 14 shutouts from 2013–17.
