YPSILANTI, Mich. – The RMU women's basketball team fell to Eastern Michigan on Wednesday afternoon, 64-54, despite an impressive 25-point performance by senior forward

FIRST QUARTER
- The Colonials were held to just six points in the first half, with Aislin Malcolm leading RMU with four points. The Colonials shot 15% from the floor, going 2-for-13.
- Eastern Michigan started the first quarter on a 7-0 run before Noa Givon got the Colonials on the board with a driving layup with 7:53 on the clock.
- With 5:54 on the clock, Aislin Malcolm hit a three from deep to cut down the Eagles' lead to four.
- The Eagles continued to grow their lead with the Colonials getting one more point on the board in the first half on a Malcolm free throw, making it 14-6. Before the end of the first quarter, Eastern Michigan added one more basket to make it 16-6.
SECOND QUARTER
- Back-to-back buckets by Myriam Traore and Jada Lee, plus two made free throws by Givon, cut the Eagles lead down to four to start the second quarter, with the Eagles out front 16-12.
- Bailey Kuhns got in on the action for the Colonials, scoring eight points in the second quarter. Her fourth basket of the night, with 41 seconds on the clock, made it 24-20 before Eastern Michigan extended its lead to six before the buzzer on a driving layup by Peyton Hill.
- The Colonial defense forced six turnovers by the Eagles while both teams pulled down eight boards in the second quarter.
THIRD QUARTER
- The Eagles extended their lead to 13 in the third quarter before the Colonials went on a 7-0 run to make it 34-28.
- A basket by Dania McClain at 1:25 made it 38-32, cutting the Eagles' lead down to six before Sisi Eleko hit a second-chance hookshot jumper for Eastern Michigan to extend the lead back up to eight going into the final quarter.
- The Colonials shot 33.3% from the floor in the third quarter. Kuhns continued to lead the RMU offense, picking up seven points in the third to bring her total to 15 going into the final frame.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Colonial offense threatened early in the fourth quarter, cutting the Eagles' lead down to just three with 9:04 on the clock. Mallory Dally hit a driving layup to make it 40-34 before Lee made a layup on the fast break to make it 40-37.
- Eastern Michigan's offense continued to put pressure on the Colonials, going on a 7-0 run to extend the lead back out to 10.
- A 5-0 run by the Colonials, following two made free throws by London Creach, made it 57-50 before a free throw by Eastern Michigan put the Eagles up by eight.
- A second-chance layup by Kuhns would cut the lead down to 10, but the Colonials were unable to get any more with Eastern Michigan getting the 64-54 win.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
Bailey Kuhns led the Colonial offense with a 25-point performance, going 9-for-14 from the floor and 7-for-10 from the charity stripe. She also recorded seven rebounds on the glass.
Aislin Malcolm and
Jada Lee each had seven points, with Lee recording seven rebounds and Malcolm with six. As a team, RMU shot 32.7 % from the floor, going 18-for-55 on the afternoon. On the glass, Eastern Michigan held a 41-39 advantage.
