MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU softball team is headed to Nashville, Tenn., for the Music City Classic, where the Colonials will take on Lipscomb in a doubleheader on Friday, March 7, at 3:00 PM ET, followed by another doubleheader against Belmont on Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 PM ET. All four games will be streamed live on ESPN+.
RMU LATELY
RMU (4-4) returns to the road after competing in the Hokie Classic in Salem, Va., where the Colonials finished 2-3, securing both wins against Bucknell. The offense was a key factor, producing 37 total runs for an average of 7.4 runs per game.
Several players reached career milestones over the weekend, with
Alaina Koutsogiani and
Anna Resnik both surpassing 150 career games played and 50 career RBI.
Kaylyn Hopf contributed five runs, five hits, and two stolen bases, while freshman
Mary Brant recorded four hits, three RBI, and her first career home run.
Sequoia Dunlap had a breakout performance with her first career grand slam against Penn State, collecting six hits, five runs, and five RBI. Resnik posted eight RBI, one home run, five hits, and four runs, while Koutsogiani added five hits, five runs, two RBI, and a home run.

Madison DeVault pitched 11 solid innings, striking out five and picking up her second win of the season.
THE POWER OF POULICH
Courtney Poulich had a historic week, driving in 11 RBI with seven hits, eight runs, and four home runs. Her three-home run performance against Bucknell (3/1) set an RMU program record, while her seven RBI in that game tied a single-game record.
Her standout performances earned her Horizon League Player of the Week honors, as well as Honorable Mention for National Player of the Week by the NFCA. On a national level, she ranks 10th in batting average (.526), 7th in on-base percentage (.625), 4th in home runs per game (0.50), and 3rd in slugging percentage (1.263).
MILESTONE WATCH
- Madison DeVault is approaching 200 career strikeouts, currently sitting at 194. The senior from Dover, Ohio, has pitched 228.1 innings, earning 19 wins and nine saves.
- Alaina Koutsogiani is closing in on 100 career runs, currently at 91. Over 154 career games, she has tallied 114 hits, 52 RBI, and 67 stolen bases.

This weekend marks RMU's first-ever matchups against Lipscomb and Belmont.
SCOUTING LIPSCOMB
Lipscomb (8-10) enters the tournament after competing in the Purple/Gold Challenge, splitting games against Ohio University and Northern Iowa. Sophomore Alyssa Hastings leads the team with a .339 batting average, 13 runs, 19 hits, and six doubles. She and Brenna Sherman share the team lead in home runs (3), while Sherman also boasts a .407 on-base percentage.
In the circle, Ryleigh Sapp owns the team's lowest ERA (3.40) and has recorded 23 strikeouts, while Laine Barefoot leads the team with four wins.
SCOUTING BELMONT
Belmont (12-7) is coming off a series win against Maryland, taking two of three games. Prior to that, the Bruins won four of five at the Green and Gold Classic in Birmingham, Ala.
Junior infielder Nicole Hughes leads the team with a .368 batting average, .471 on-base percentage, 21 hits, and five doubles. Senior outfielder Baie Ensio has scored a team-high 15 runs, while freshman Rylee Spindler leads with 15 RBI.
On the mound, junior Maya Johnson has been dominant, recording four shutouts, six wins, 85 strikeouts, and a 0.95 ERA in 51.1 innings.
UP NEXT
RMU will begin Horizon League play and host its 2025 home opener next week. The Colonials take on Oakland on Friday, March 14, at 3:00 PM, followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 15, beginning at 1:00 PM.
