MOON TOWNSHIP, PA. – The RMU women's hockey team is set to enhance its roster for the 2025-26 season with the addition of four dynamic transfers: forwards Ellie Marcovsky, Jessica MacKinnon, Taylor Storey, and Rowyn Ringor. Each brings a distinctive skill set and experience that align with the Colonials' vision of competitiveness and culture.

"We were very intentional in the transfer portal this year, not just in building depth on the ice, but in bringing in exceptional young women who reflect the culture and values we're continuing to build here at Robert Morris," said Head Coach Logan Bittle. "Each of these players align very well with who we are and what we're striving for as a group. They'll help us chase our goals and elevate our program, and we're incredibly excited to welcome them to Colonial Country."

Ellie Marcovsky – Forward – Pittsburgh, PA
Returning to RMU as a graduate student, Pittsburgh native Ellie Marcovsky brings leadership and a deep understanding of the program's ethos. In her freshman year (2020-21), she was instrumental in RMU's CHA Tournament Championship, tallying 8 goals and 10 assists in 25 games. After four seasons at Princeton University, Marcovsky's return signifies a full-circle moment, poised to mentor a young roster with her 200-foot game and high hockey IQ.

"I wanted to come back to RMU because it offers the perfect balance of competitive athletics and strong academics," said Marcovsky. "From the start, I felt like the people at RMU believed in me as both a player and as a person. I want to be part of rebuilding something special here."

Jessica MacKinnon – Forward – Clarks Harbour, NS
Hailing from Clarks Harbour, Nova Scotia, Jessica MacKinnon joins RMU after a freshman year at Clarkson University. Prior to college, she stood out at Ridley College as a consistent top contributor, demonstrating elite-level playmaking and on-ice awareness. MacKinnon further solidified her reputation through her international experience with Team Canada U18, where she found her identity on the national stage. Her ability to dominate games and elevate those around her makes her a particularly exciting addition to the Colonials' forward corps.

"I chose to come to RMU because of the family-like feel and the mindset to make the hockey program more competitive," stated MacKinnon.

Taylor Storey – Forward – Waterloo, ON
Transferring as a redshirt sophomore from Clarkson University, Taylor Storey is recognized for her physical play and ability to navigate soft spaces on the ice. A native of Waterloo, Ontario, Storey's gritty style and natural playmaking abilities are expected to bolster RMU's forward depth. Her alignment with the team's culture and off-ice demeanor make her a seamless fit for the Colonials.

"I selected RMU because of its dedicated coaching staff, strong academics and the supportive community," said Storey. "I believe RMU will provide me with the resources I need to develop both as a player and as an individual while pursuing a higher education at a reputable institution. I can't wait to get started!"

Rowyn Ringor – Forward – Winnipeg, MB
After a standout freshman season at Post University, where she earned NEWHA Rookie of the Year honors and recorded 26 points (10G, 16A) in 37 games, Winnipeg's Rowyn Ringor brings her scoring touch and team-first mentality to RMU. Her experience with Team Manitoba U18 further underscores her competitive edge. Ringor's versatility and commitment to team success are anticipated to make an immediate impact.

"I'm very excited to join RMU as the opportunity aligns perfectly with both my academic and athletic goals," stated Ringor. "The program has a known history of pushing their athletes to compete and be the best version of themselves. The academic program offers learning opportunities that allow student-athletes to excel in the classroom as well. I've only heard amazing things about the team culture, players and the coaching staff. I'm truly grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to get started and compete alongside my teammates."

With a total of 10 new faces joining the program next season, these four transfers are set to bring a fresh dynamic to the Colonials. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences are expected to contribute significantly to RMU's pursuit of excellence both on and off the ice.

The Colonials will enter their third season under the leadership of Head Coach Logan Bittle in the 2025-26 campaign.
