BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – RMU concluded their regular season with a 3-0 loss to Bowling Green. The Colonials finish the regular season with a 27-16 overall record and have officially secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming #HLSB Championship.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams had a hit in the scoreless first inning. Bowling Green took a 1-0 lead in the second inning with a sacrifice bunt.
In the third, the Falcons extended their lead to 2-0 with a solo home run from Hannah Hunt. Bowling Green added another run in the fifth inning with an RBI single, making it 3-0.
RMU's offense struggled to find momentum in the final innings.
Kaylyn Hopf recorded a single in the seventh, but the Colonials were unable to capitalize, resulting in the 3-0 loss.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Bowling Green outhit RMU 5-3 and committed one error.
- Both teams drew three walks.
- Jess Matheny recorded her second consecutive stolen base.
- In the circle, Kaitlyn Molitoris started and pitched four innings, allowing two runs and striking out three. Madelyn Coleman closed out the final two innings, allowing one run and recording one strikeout.
RESNIK'S HITTING STREAK CONTINUES

Anna Resnik extended her impressive hitting streak to 12 games with a hit in today's game. She also remains second in RMU's single-season history with 42 runs scored, just three shy of tying the record of 44 set by Gwen Leidy in 1997.

With the conclusion of the Horizon League regular season, RMU has officially clinched the No. 2 seed in the #HLSB Championship. The tournament will be hosted by the No. 1 seed, Cleveland State. The Colonials first game in the #HLSB Championship will be against the winner of No. 3 IUI and No. 6 Green Bay on Thursday, May 8 at 2:30 PM.
