MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Five student-athletes from the RMU softball team –
Anna Resnik,
Courtney Poulich,
Madison DeVault,
Logan Black, and
Jess Matheny – have been named to the prestigious College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. To be eligible, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Position players must have competed in at least 90% of team games played OR started at least 66% of games, while pitchers must have pitched 25-plus innings or appeared in 17 games.
Anna Resnik (Senior / Elizabeth, Pa.)
Resnik earns Academic All-District honors for the third consecutive year. A Mechanical Engineering major, she graduated with an impressive 3.91 cumulative GPA. This season, Resnik started all 48 games, recording 45 hits, 43 runs, 34 RBI, and four home runs. Throughout her career, she has been named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team once and received an Honorable Mention twice. She was also a First Team All-League selection this season and a Second Team honoree in 2024.
Courtney Poulich (Redshirt-Junior / Greensburg, Pa.)
Poulich receives Academic All-District honors for the second straight year. As a Health Sciences major, she holds a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA. In 2025, Poulich started all 48 games and had a record-breaking season, setting new program highs for RBI (53), home runs (16), and runs scored (45). She was named the Horizon League Championship MVP after hitting a home run in each tournament game and driving in five runs. Poulich was also a member of the Horizon League's All-Academic Team and a First Team All-League selection.
Madison DeVault (Senior / Dover, Ohio)
DeVault also earns Academic All-District recognition for the second consecutive season. A Biology major, she graduated with a 3.68 cumulative GPA. This season, DeVault appeared in 27 games, earning 14 wins and one save. She led the Horizon League in ERA (2.95) and opponent batting average (.214) and was a pivotal force in RMU's Horizon League Championship victory, pitching all 21 innings of the tournament. Her accolades include being named All-League First Team (2025) and Second Team (2024), and she was a two-time Horizon League Pitcher of the Week this season.
Logan Black (Senior / Gilbertsville, Pa.)
Black earns her first Academic All-District honors. She graduated with a degree in Industrial Engineering, boasting a 3.94 cumulative GPA. In 2025, Black started 46 games behind the plate, registering 31 hits, 15 runs, and 14 RBI. She delivered a crucial walk-off hit against Purdue Fort Wayne in game two of the Horizon League Championship. Throughout her career, she has twice been named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team.
Jess Matheny (Senior / Connellsville, Pa.)
Matheny also receives her first Academic All-District honors. An Organizational Leadership major, she finished with a 3.89 cumulative GPA. This year, Matheny started all 48 games in centerfield, recording 43 hits, 39 RBI, 32 runs, and seven home runs. She was a Horizon League All-League Second Team selection.
Resnik and Poulich have been advanced to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, where CSC members will vote for the national teams. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 17, 2025.
