MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU Volleyball team closes out its nonconference schedule this weekend by hosting the Four Twelve Project Volleyball Invitational. On Friday, September 19, the Colonials host Saint Francis at 6 p.m. followed by Buffalo on Saturday, September 20 at 5 p.m.
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (2-7) are coming off a 3-set sweep on UMES on September 13 in the final day of the Hokie Invitational.
Jocelyn Jourdan led RMU with 12 kills.
Kaitlyn Brown recorded 25 assists and six digs.
Hillarie Adams led the defensive effort with 12 digs.
Tia Schultz and
Keira Hornung combined for 15 kills, with Schultz being named to the All-Tournament team. Jourdan is ninth in the Horizon League with 2.8 kills per set and
Addyson Butts ranks third with 0.4 aces per set.
SAINT FRANCIS LATELY
Saint Francis (4-5) won one of its three matches last weekend, falling to Rutgers and New Hampshire and defeating Rider. The Red Flash lead the NEC in hitting percentage (.210), kills (12.6/set), and aces (1.9/set). Korrin Burns is the NEC leader in kills (5.35/set) and Alexandra Sappia is at the top with 10.0 assists per set.
BUFFALO LATELY
Buffalo (3-4) won one of its three matches at the Buffalo Classic last weekend, defeating Niagara and falling to Northwestern and Cornell. Buffalo is second in the MAC with a .238 hitting percentage and Manoela Forlin is fifth in the league with 3.8 kills per set.
UP NEXT
RMU begins HL play at Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, September 26 and Saturday, September 27. The Colonials stay on the road for a midweek matchup at Youngstown State on Tuesday, September 30 before their conference home opener on Saturday, October 4 and Sunday, October 5 against Oakland.
