MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU Volleyball team, winners of five straight, continue Horizon League Play on Tuesday at Youngstown State. Serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center.
 
RMU LATELY
The Colonials (6-7. 2-0 HL) are coming off a sweep of Purdue Fort Wayne and are off to their first-ever 2-0 Horizon League start. Outside hitter Jocelyn Jourdan is the league's reigning player of the week after averaging 5.13 kills and 2.88 digs per set while hitting .272. Jourdan is fifth in the HL with 158 kills and sixth with 3.36 kills per set. Keira Hornung leads the league with 1.34 blocks per set and Addyson Butts is atop the aces list with 0.63 per set. RMU leads the HL with 15.26 digs per set.
 
YOUNGSTOWN STATE LATELY
The Penguins (5-8, 0-2 HL) dropped both of their matches at Green Bay this past weekend. Gabriela Machin is fourth in the HL with a .314 hitting percentage and Abbie Householder is fifth in the league with 3.53 kills per set. As a team, YSU leads the HL with a .222 hitting percentage.
 
THE SERIES
The Colonials and Penguins began the series in 1981, with YSU holding a 42-12 all-time advantage.. YSU leads 19-4 in matches played in Youngstown, however RMU has won four of the last five road matches.          
 
UP NEXT
The team returns home for its conference home-opening weekend, hosting Oakland on Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 5.
