MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – A regional FCS rivalry is renewed this Saturday as Robert Morris travels to Youngstown State. Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM at Stambaugh Stadium.
 
YSU LATELY                
The Penguins are coming off a 24-15 win over Mercyhurst in Week 1. Defensive back Dathan Hickey was named the Stats Perform's National Defensive Player of the Week and the Missouri Valley Football Conference's Defensive Player of the Week after recording 13 tackles and an interception.
 
THE SERIES                 
Saturday marks the sixth matchup between the two schools. The series began in 2015 and resumed in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2023. YSU has won all five games.
 
LAST TIME OUT                      
On September 16, 2023, Youngstown State defeated Robert Morris 48-28 at Stambaugh Stadium. The Penguins' offense amassed 595 total yards, led by Tyshon King who rushed for three touchdowns and Mitch Davidson who threw for 339 yards.
 
JUST KICKING IT         
In his first career game as a punter, Jayson Jenkins averaged 41.2 yards per kick and placed five balls inside the 20 at West Virginia. He also added a 36-yard field goal. For his efforts, he was named NEC Special Teams Co-Player of the Week on September 1.
 
PATRICK PERSISTENCE          
Patrick McDonnell was named a Week 1 NEC Prime Performer. The linebacker recorded a game and career-high 12 tackles with a fumble recovery at WVU.
 
RMU IN ROAD OPENERS      
RMU is 6-25 all time in road openers. The Colonials last road opening victory was September 25, 2004 at Saint Francis.
