YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Robert Morris University football team fell to Youngstown State, 56-17, on Saturday afternoon at Stambaugh Stadium.
The Colonials got on the board first with a 46-yard field goal from
Jayson Jenkins in the first quarter. However, the Penguins would score 56 unanswered points before RMU found the endzone again.
In the fourth quarter, quarterback
Zach Tanner connected with
Thomas Lee for a 34-yard touchdown pass and later found
Kai Holloway for a 16-yard touchdown. Tanner finished the day with 192 yards passing and two touchdowns. Lee was the leading receiver with five catches for 75 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Mitchell Robinson, Jr. led the Colonials with nine tackles and a sack.
Next up, RMU has its home opener against West Liberty. Kickoff at Joe Walton Stadium is 6 p.m.
