MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Despite 20 points from Ryan Prather Jr., Robert Morris (11-7, 3-4 HL) fell to Purdue Fort Wayne (11-8, 5-3 HL), 79-74, on Sunday at the UPMC Events Center.
 
DeSean Goode scored 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Albert Vargas facilitated the offense with a season-best nine assists and added eight points. In his first game back since December 6, Darius Livingston scored  nine points, hitting three 3-pointers and handing out five assists.
 
Corey Hadnot II led Purdue Fort Wayne with 17 points, converting 8-of-12 field goal attempts. DeAndre Craig added 15 points. Mikale Stevenson matched Craig's point total with 15.
 
1st HALF
After back-to-back 3-pointers from Cam Wilds put RMU up 13-10 at 14:54, PFW went on a 24-11 run to take a 33-24 lead going into the under-4 media timeout. The Colonials cut the deficit to 40-37 inside a minute before Maximus Nelson's 3-pointer at the buzzer sent the game into halftime with the Mastodons ahead 43-37.
 
2nd HALF
An early 9-0 run gave Robert Morris a 46-45 lead at the 15:58 mark; however, Purdue Fort Wayne responded with a 22-7 run over the next seven minutes to take its largest lead of the game at 14 points (67-53) with 7:40 to play. RMU made another run, this time 21-10, to make it a one-possession contest at 77-74 on a Nikolaos Chitikoudis layup with 15 seconds to go.
 
On the next possession, the Colonials' defense forced a Mastodons turnover with five seconds remaining. But Prather's 3-point attempt was blocked by Hadnot, and Craig closed out the scoring with a pair of free throws.

"It's hard to get wins when you can't get consistent stops. The last play, you want the ball in Ryan's hands. Everything had gone well, then we didn't screen Ryan's man, which is part of the play. Those details get in the way."
