1/14/2026 3:45:00 PM

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU redshirt junior goaltender Maggie Hatch has been named to the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) Women's Goalie of the Year Watch List for the third consecutive season, as announced by the HCA on Wednesday afternoon.

A consistent backbone of the Colonials' defensive unit, Hatch has put together another outstanding campaign between the pipes, posting a 2.08 goals-against average and a .932 save percentage. Her save percentage currently ranks first in Atlantic Hockey America, while her goals-against average stands third best in the conference.

Hatch has recorded five shutouts this season, tied for third most in the nation and marking the second-highest single-season total in program history. She has earned eight victories on the year, compiling 545 saves, and remains perfect in shootouts with a 2-0 record.

Since joining the Colonials, Hatch has totaled 24 career wins, eight shutouts, and a .920 save percentage. Earlier this season, she became just the third goaltender in program history to surpass 2,000 career saves and currently sits at 2,173. Hatch has posted 30 or more saves in 40 career games, including 15 performances with at least 40 stops.

Hatch's résumé is highlighted by a series of conference and national honors dating back to her freshman season. During the 2023-24 campaign, she was named to the Atlantic Hockey America All-Rookie Team. She is a two-time AHA Goaltender of the Month, a five-time Goaltender of the Week selection, and was most recently recognized as the Hockey Commissioners Association's Co-Goalie of the Month for December.

The HCA Goalie of the Year Watch List features 31 goaltenders from across all five NCAA Division I conferences who are eligible for the 2026 National Women's Goalie of the Year Award. Established in 2021, the award honors the top goaltender in Division I women's hockey.

This year's watch list includes 16 goaltenders from the United States, 10 from Canada, and five from Europe, representing Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. To qualify for inclusion, goaltenders must post a goals-against average of 2.20 or lower or a save percentage of .923 or higher.

A committee comprised of coaches, administrators, and media members will narrow the list in the coming weeks before selecting the final recipient, who will be announced in March during the NCAA Frozen Four.
