MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Robert Morris University men's basketball team, led by Pat Gallagher head coach Andy Toole, has finalized its non-conference slate to complete the full 2026-27 schedule. Following the earlier announcement of their Horizon League fixtures, the Colonials now have their entire path set for the upcoming season, featuring a rigorous non-conference lineup, key regional rivalries, and 14 regular-season home contests at the UPMC Events Center.
The season tips off on Tuesday, Oct. 27, when RMU hosts Canisius for an exhibition game in Moon Township. The regular season officially opens on the road on Monday, Nov. 2, as the Colonials travel west to face Nevada, followed by a Nov. 6 matchup at UIC.
Highlights of the non-conference schedule include high-profile road trips to SEC power Arkansas (Nov. 11), Toledo (Nov. 19), and Northern Iowa (Nov. 28), alongside an appearance in the Jacksonville Classic in Florida from Nov. 22–24. Fans can also look forward to the Hope Gas Backyard Basketball Classic against Duquesne, set for Wednesday, Dec. 9 at PPG Paints Arena in downtown Pittsburgh.
At home, the non-conference home slate starts with RMU's Home Opener against Capital (Nov. 15) and is highlighted by clashes against Monmouth (Dec. 13), Vermont (Dec. 20), and Ohio University (Dec. 23).
RMU opens Horizon League play Wednesday, Dec. 2, traveling to IU Indy before returning home Friday, Dec. 5, to host Youngstown State at the UPMC Events Center.
The Colonials close out the calendar year with a road matchup at Purdue Fort Wayne on Dec. 30 before opening 2027 at home against Northern Illinois on Saturday, Jan. 3.
RMU faces a challenging stretch throughout January, hosting Detroit Mercy (Jan. 6), Oakland (Jan. 9), Purdue Fort Wayne (Jan. 20), and IU Indy (Jan. 23). The Colonials also hit the road for contests at Wright State (Jan. 14), Cleveland State (Jan. 17), Milwaukee (Jan. 27), and Green Bay (Jan. 30).
February features eight Horizon League contests, including four at the UPMC Events Center. The Colonials welcome Cleveland State (Feb. 4), Northern Kentucky (Feb. 18), Milwaukee (Feb. 24), and Green Bay (Feb. 27) to Moon Township, while traveling to Youngstown State (Feb. 7), Detroit Mercy (Feb. 11), Oakland (Feb. 13), and Northern Illinois (Feb. 21).
RMU closes its Horizon League regular-season schedule Friday, Feb. 27, at home against Green Bay. The 2027 Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship begins on March 2, culminating with the semifinals and championship game on March 8–9 in Noblesville, Indiana.
