RMU Prepares to Host Purdue Fort Wayne

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's volleyball team continues Horizon League play this weekend, hosting Purdue Fort Wayne for a two-match series. The Colonials open the series Friday, October 2, at 6:00 PM, before returning to the court Saturday, October 3, at 4:00 PM. Friday's match will stream live on ESPN+, while Saturday's contest will be available on YouTube.
 
RMU LATELY
RMU (3-11, 1-2 #HLVB) looks to bounce back after dropping both matches at IU Indy last week, following a conference-opening victory over Youngstown State. Freshman outside hitter Lauren Decker led the Colonials offensively against the Jaguars, recording 35 kills across the two matches. Freshman setter Kenlee Barnard also had a productive series, totaling 69 assists.
 
Through 14 matches, Decker leads RMU with 187 kills, averaging 3.83 kills per set. Barnard has paced the offense with 488 assists, putting her within reach of the 500-assist mark. Defensively, freshman libero Maddie Siphakongviseth leads the Colonials with 151 digs, followed closely by junior Anahi Alvarado with 147. Alvarado also leads the team with 15 service aces.
 
UPON THE HORIZON
Decker ranks third among Horizon League players in kills per set (3.82) and fifth in points per set (4.09). Barnard sits fourth in the conference in assists per set, averaging 9.57. Junior middle blocker Keira Hornung ranks eighth in blocks per set, averaging 0.96.
 
ALL-TIME VS. PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Dating back to 2006, Purdue Fort Wayne holds a 10-5 advantage in the all-time series against RMU. The Colonials swept last season's two-match series in Fort Wayne, Indiana, winning both contests by scores of 3-1.
 
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
Purdue Fort Wayne (8-7, 2-0 #HLVB) enters the weekend following a pair of conference victories over Cleveland State, winning the opening match 3-2 before earning a 3-1 victory in the second contest. The Mastodons went 6-7 during non-conference play.
 
Junior outside hitter Riley Rosneck leads PFW with 226 kills through 15 matches, averaging 3.96 kills per set. Sophomore setter Lili Smith has recorded a team-high 303 assists, averaging 6.45 per set. Defensively, senior libero Becky Barrett leads the Mastodons with 244 digs. Smith, Rosneck and Miona Dimitric have each tallied 15 service aces.

RMU hits the road for a single match against Youngstown State on Tuesday, October 6. First serve is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
