MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU women's soccer saw its second-longest shutout streak in program history come to an end Saturday, as Northern Kentucky handed the Colonials a 2-0 defeat at the North Athletic Complex. With the loss, RMU falls to 5-5-3 overall and 2-2-2 in Horizon League play.
FIRST HALF
Northern Kentucky generated three shot attempts in the opening eight minutes before
Ava Trethewey recorded RMU's first shot on goal in the ninth minute.
The Colonials began to find their rhythm midway through the half, creating opportunities through
Madison Sievering and
Fiona Fraser. However, Sievering's attempt was saved, while Fraser's shot was blocked.
In the 37th minute, the Norse broke through to take a 1-0 lead. Megan Molner found Ayla Conn, just outside the center of the box. Conn took a touch before unleashing a shot from distance that found the back of the net.
RMU looked to respond before halftime, earning three corner kicks and recording two shots in the final two minutes. Despite the late pressure, the Colonials were unable to find an equalizer and entered the break trailing 1-0.
SECOND HALF
Trethewey put an early second-half attempt on target as RMU looked to get back into the match. Northern Kentucky responded by limiting the Colonials' offensive opportunities and maintaining control of the contest.
The Norse doubled their advantage in the 78th minute when Molner connected with a cross and headed the ball into the net to make it 2-0.
RMU continued to battle in the closing minutes but could not overcome the deficit, falling to Northern Kentucky by a final score of 2-0.

- Northern Kentucky held a 20-8 advantage in shots, including an 8-4 edge in shots on goal.
- The Norse recorded 12 corner kicks, while RMU finished with eight.
- The Colonials were whistled for nine fouls and received one yellow card, compared to five fouls for Northern Kentucky.
- Bailey Campbell, Julia Becerra, Fiona Fraser and Addison Orehowsky each played all 90 minutes for RMU.
- Senior goalkeeper Emma Cameron finished with five saves.
- RMU's shutout streak ended at 433 consecutive minutes, marking the second-longest streak in program history.
