MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Robert Morris (19–10, 11–7 HL) faces Detroit Mercy (13–13, 11–7 HL) this Wednesday, February 25, at the UPMC Events Center. With both teams in a three-way tie for second place with Oakland in the Horizon League standings, this matchup carries significant postseason seeding implications. The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on SportsNet Pittsburgh and stream on ESPN+.
 
RMU LATELY        
Robert Morris enters the matchup on a five-game winning streak and remains undefeated throughout the month of February, a run that includes Sunday's 81–68 road victory over first-place Wright State. RMU is looking for back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 2013-14 and 2014-15, when they won 22 and 20 games, respectively.
 
A key driver of this momentum is Darius Livingston, who was recently named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week for the third consecutive week.
 
DETROIT MERCY LATELY   
Detroit Mercy enters the matchup as one of the Horizon League's hottest teams, having won four straight games and six of their last seven. The Titans are chasing their 15th overall victory—their highest win total since 2016—and a 12th conference win, which would be the program's most since 2013. Reigning HL Player of the Week Orlando Lovejoy leads the charge, coming off a dominant stretch where he averaged 28.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting 53.6% from the floor.
 
RMU AND DETROIT MERCY HISTORY            
The programs first met in 2009 at the 2K Sports Classic in Albany, N.Y., but did not play again until Robert Morris joined the Horizon League in 2021. Although Detroit Mercy leads the all-time series 7–5, Robert Morris has won five of the last six matchups and holds a 3–1 record against the Titans at the UPMC Events Center.
 
RMU AND DETROIT MERCY LAST TIME OUT                
Robert Morris secured an 85-77 road win over Detroit Mercy on January 2 at Calihan Hall, fueled by an explosive 58-point second-half performance.
DeSean Goode led a balanced scoring attack with 18 points on a perfect 3-for-3 night from deep, while Nikolaos Chitikoudis notched his fifth double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Despite a game-high 20 points from UDM's Orlando Lovejoy, the Colonials' efficiency at the stripe—highlighted by Ryan Prather Jr.'s 8-of-9 free-throw shooting—proved too much for the Titans to overcome.
