MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Robert Morris extended its win streak to seven games on Saturday, after a dominant 83–64 victory over Cleveland State to wrap up the regular season. The win officially clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Horizon League Championship.
Nikolaos Chitikoudis posted a double-double for RMU, scoring 18 points and collecting 10 rebounds.
DeSean Goode added 16 points, converting five of his 10 field goal attempts, while
Ryan Prather Jr. contributed three 3-pointers and recorded five rebounds.
Eddie Cooke III provided a spark off the bench with six assists and eight rebounds for the Colonials.
Chevalier Emery led CSU with 11 points, hitting two 3-pointers and adding two assists and one steal.
1st HALF
The Colonials claimed an early 12–5 advantage following an
Ubong Okon layup, but the Vikings surged back with a dominant 17–2 run to lead by eight at the midway point. RMU refused to go away, steadily chipping at the deficit until an Eddie Cooke free throw leveled the game at 30–30 with just over four minutes remaining. The teams traded blows in the closing moments of the period, eventually heading into the locker room deadlocked at 39–39 after
Ta'Zir Smith drained a jumper with only two seconds left on the clock.
2nd HALF
Building on the momentum of a tight first half, RMU took control of the game after trailing 54–50 early in the period. The Colonials ignited a massive 23–2 scoring surge, punctuated by a
Samuel Obenjo dunk, to flip the script and establish a commanding 73–56 lead. The Vikings struggled to find an answer as the margin grew to as many as 19 points in the final minute, allowing the home squad to secure the victory.
