Four Score in Double Figures to Lead RMU Men’s Basketball to 72-66 Victory Over First Place Wright State

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa.  — Four players scored in double figures to lead Robert Morris (15-10, 7-7 Horizon) to a 72-66 victory over first-place Wright State (15-9, 10-3 Horizon) on Wednesday night at the UPMC Events Center.

Ryan Prather Jr. led the team with 17 points, including three 3-pointers, while also dishing out five assists. DeSean Goode bolstered the squad with 16 points and seven rebounds, adding two blocks and two steals. Darius Livingston scored 16 points while converting four of eight from beyond the arc. Nikolaos Chitikoudis recorded his seventh double-double, collecting 12 points and 12 rebounds, and fortified the defense with four blocks. The Robert Morris defense held Wright State to just 35.4% shooting, a notable drop from the Raiders' previous Horizon League best of 49.1%. Josh Hill missed the game with an injury.

WSU's Michael Imariagbe topped the scoring sheet with 16 points and led the team on the boards with 13 rebounds, while also recording three steals. Kellen Pickett stood out defensively, securing 11 rebounds and two blocks. Solomon Callaghan added 14 points and two steals, while TJ Burch matched Callaghan's offensive output with 14 points and four assists.

1st HALF
The first half began as a tightly contested battle, defined by a back-and-forth struggle between the Colonials and the Raiders that saw seven lead changes and a tie in the opening minutes. The deadlock was finally broken at 12–12 when a Livingston pull-up jumper sparked a surge of momentum for RMU. From that point, Robert Morris began to pull away, with a Chitikoudis layup at the 5:56 mark stretching the advantage over WSU to 29–19 and securing the game's first double-digit lead. This scoring burst evolved into a dominant 15–3 run, allowing the Colonials to extend their cushion to 13 points at 34–21 with 4:42 remaining. The Raiders struggled to close the gap in the closing minutes of the period, allowing RMU to carry a commanding 40–27 lead into halftime.

2nd HALF
Wright State quickly erased much of the deficit with a 14–5 run to start the second half, pulling within four points at 45–41 with 15:05 remaining. The pressure continued until an Imariagbe layup at the 8:16 mark cut the RMU lead to 57–56. On their very next offensive possession, WSU officially surged ahead on a dunk by Pickett. The Raiders eventually extended their lead to 61–57, but the Colonials responded. Back-to-back layups from Chitikoudis and Prather tied the game at 61–61 with 4:27 left on the clock. While a Dominic Pangonis dunk briefly put WSU back on top 63–61, Robert Morris took over in the final minutes. RMU closed the game with a decisive 11–2 run, stifling the Raiders defensively and allowing only one field goal for the remainder of the contest to secure the victory.
