CHASING HISTORY
Redshirt senior
Courtney Poulich continues to rewrite the RMU record book. She enters the weekend with 34 career home runs, just two shy of the program record set by Kali Byers (2003–06).
Poulich is also closing in on her own single-season records after setting program marks in 2025 with 45 runs scored and 16 home runs. Through just 21 games this season, she has already compiled 41 runs and 12 home runs.
DOUBLE-DIGIT DOMINANCE
With three double-digit scoring performances against Green Bay, RMU has already matched last season's program record of 12 games with 10 or more runs. One more such performance would establish a new single-season mark.
ALL-TIME VS. OAKLAND
RMU holds an 11-8 advantage all-time against Oakland and is 4-2 in games played in Rochester. The Colonials average 3.95 runs per game in the series.
Last season, RMU secured the series victory by winning two of three contests. After dropping the opener 3-1, the Colonials responded with dominant 8-0 and 11-1 (5 innings) wins. Poulich highlighted the finale with a three-run home run, while
Kaylyn Hopf and
Mary Brant each drove in two runs in the first victory.
Madelyn Coleman tossed a shutout in that game, striking out four across five innings.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland (13-12, 1-2 #HLSB) enters the weekend following a series sweep at the hands of Western Michigan. Prior to that, the Golden Grizzlies opened conference play by taking one of three games at Northern Kentucky. Notably, Oakland has been dominant at home, holding a perfect 8-0 record in Rochester.
Offensively, graduate first baseman Maggie Murphy leads the team with a .412 batting average, along with seven doubles, four triples, a .824 slugging percentage, and a .466 on-base mark. Senior outfielder Kamryn Troyer has made an impact with 27 hits and 19 runs scored, while freshman shortstop Autumn Liebhauser has added five home runs. Sophomore Kayla Turmell leads the team with 20 RBI.
In the circle, sophomore Kenna Bommarito anchors the pitching staff with a 1.44 ERA and six wins. She has thrown seven complete games, including four shutouts, and has recorded 67 strikeouts across 63.0 innings.
UP NEXT
RMU will step out of conference play for a midweek series at Saint Francis U in Loretto, Pa. A doubleheader is scheduled for Tuesday, March 31 at 2:00 PM, with both games streaming live on NEC Front Row.
