MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Calum Brennan and
Dylan Anderson combined for 10 points as the RMU Men's Lacrosse (8-3, 3-0) NEC team won its seventh consecutive game in its 19-4 victory over Le Moyne (2-9, 1-2 NEC) on Saturday afternoon at Joe Walton Stadium.
Anderson led the way for RMU with four goals and an assist, converting on eight of his 11 shots on goal while Brennan contributed with three goals and two assists, finding the net on all five of his shots.
Tommy Linehan scored the game-winning goal while also adding an assist. Defensively,
Owen Tapper caused four turnovers and
Zach Tucker picked up six ground balls. In net,
Nate Fechter made 11 saves in three quarters of play.
First Quarter
The game began with RMU securing the initial faceoff, leading to Tapper scoring the first goal just 15 seconds into play, assisted by
Liam Blakely. RMU maintained momentum as
Joel McCormick netted his 10th goal of the season at 12:39, extending the lead. Anderson further increased RMU's advantage with two goals, one at 11:42 and another at 8:07, both assisted by
Callum Witter and
Nathan Ruff, respectively.
Tommy Linehan and
Koerner Marechek added to RMU's offense with goals at 4:00 and 3:09, solidifying a strong first quarter. Despite a singular response from Le Moyne's Thomas Berry at 12:02, RMU ended the quarter ahead 6-1.
Second Quarter
RMU took command in the second quarter, starting with a goal by McCormick just 55 seconds in. Brennan added to the momentum with a goal at 10:20, followed quickly by another from
Luke Prezioso, assisted by Anderson. Anderson scored soon after, extending RMU's lead.
Ryan Stiefel and Brennan each found the net again, with Brennan completing a hat-trick for the quarter. Despite a man-up goal from Berry, RMU's offensive dominance continued with
Evan DiBlasi scoring late in the quarter. The quarter ended with RMU leading 14-2.
Third Quarter
RMU opened the third quarter with a strategic play as Anderson scored at 14:11, assisted by Brennan, maintaining their strong lead. Prezioso added to the momentum with a goal at 12:11, assisted by
Ben Eck, further solidifying RMU's advantage. Despite the Dolphins' attempts to narrow the gap, including a goal by Owen Wilson at 7:37, RMU responded effectively. Eck scored again for RMU at 08:26, underscoring the team's offensive strength. The quarter concluded with RMU leading 17-4.
Fourth Quarter
In the fourth quarter, RMU extended its lead after Eck scored at 6:02, marking his 10th goal of the season. Shortly after,
Tommy Mullikin found the back of the net at 4:01, tallying his first goal of the season.
