MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU softball team is set for a midweek non-conference matchup at Akron on Tuesday, April 14. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2:00 PM at Lee R. Jackson Field in Akron, Ohio. Live stats will be available for both contests.
RMU LATELY
RMU (18-12, 6-6 #HLSB) is coming off a hard-fought series loss to Northern Kentucky. Despite the result, the Colonials matched the Norse with 24 runs apiece over the three-game set.
Courtney Poulich continued her record-breaking campaign, launching her 17th home run of the season to surpass her own single-season mark set in 2025. In the circle,
Madelyn Coleman provided consistency across all three games, posting a 1-0 record with seven strikeouts over 11.1 innings and a 2.47 ERA.
Through 30 games,
Aglaia Rudd has been dominant at the plate, leading the team with a .552 batting average, 48 hits, 11 doubles and a .580 on-base percentage. Poulich anchors the power production with team highs in home runs (17), runs (49), RBIs (50) and slugging percentage (1.043). Additional offensive contributions include
Eloise Facher's five triples and
Alivia Hare's nine stolen bases.
In the circle,
Madison Brown owns a team-best 4.59 ERA, while

POULICH ON THE CUSP
Poulich's record-setting season may not be finished. After setting the program's single-season RBI record (53) in 2025, she enters the week with 50—just three shy of matching her own mark.
TEAM RECORD WATCH
The Colonials' offense continues to rewrite the record book. RMU has already hit 57 home runs through 30 games and is closing in on additional program marks with 265 runs scored and 243 RBIs.
The program record for runs (293) was set in 1997, while last season's squad (2025) holds the RBI record with 258.
ALL-TIME VS. AKRON
RMU is 13-19 all-time against Akron dating back to 1991 but enters Tuesday with momentum in the series after earning a pair of wins in 2024 (8-4, 5-0).
Kaylyn Hopf and Poulich each recorded an RBI in those victories.
SCOUTING THE ZIPS
Akron (23-19, 15-3 #MAC) enters the matchup riding a nine-game winning streak after sweeping Buffalo, Kent State and Toledo. The Zips currently sit atop the MAC standings with a 15-3 conference record.
