MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU softball team begins a week of non-conference play by hosting Pitt on Tuesday, April 21. First pitch at the NAC Softball Field is set for 4:00 PM. The game will stream live on ESPN+ with commentary provided by Adam Gusky.
RMU LATELY
RMU (21-14, 8-7 #HLSB) is coming off a series victory over IU Indy, winning two of three games.
Designated hitter
Courtney Poulich led the charge, blasting three home runs and driving in eight RBIs across the series. At the top of the lineup,
Eloise Facher and
Kaylyn Hopf each recorded two hits in all three games, providing consistent production.
Alivia Hare added four RBIs, while
Sequoia Dunlap delivered the walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth inning in game two.
In the circle, senior
Madelyn Coleman earned two victories for the Colonials. Across the two wins, she totaled five strikeouts over 10.1 innings of work.
ANOTHER RECORD TO WATCH
Poulich enters the week with 137 career RBIs and 122 runs scored, closing in on program records of 144 RBIs and 130 runs.
She has already produced 64 RBIs this season and is just 15 shy of the Horizon League single-season record of 78, set in 1999.

Mary Brant sits at 96 career hits, just four shy of reaching 100. Senior pitcher
Madelyn Coleman enters the week with 190 career strikeouts, approaching the 200 mark.

Since 1998, the Colonials are 19-24-1 all-time against the Panthers. Earlier this season, RMU earned a decisive 12-3 victory at Vartabedian Field.
Poulich powered the offense in that matchup, going 4-for-4 with four runs scored and six RBIs.
Aglaia Rudd added two hits and two RBIs, while
Kaitlyn Molitoris tossed a complete game, allowing just two earned runs and striking out 10.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pitt (21-24, 7-14 ACC) enters Tuesday's matchup on a five-game skid, with recent losses to Clemson, Ohio State and Louisville.
Graduate KK Esparza leads the Panthers offensively with a .336 batting average, eight home runs, 36 RBIs and a .598 slugging percentage. Tieley Vaughn paces the team in runs (42), hits (45) and on-base percentage (.442).
In the circle, Kyra Pittman leads the staff with a 4.49 ERA, seven wins and 85.2 innings pitched, while Gwen Spark has recorded a team-high 66 strikeouts.
UP NEXT
RMU will continue its homestand by hosting La Roche for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26, beginning at 1:00 PM. The day will also serve as Senior Day.
