MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Senior
Courtney Poulich of the RMU softball team was named to the 2026 Academic All-America® Second Team on Tuesday, as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Poulich becomes just the second softball student-athlete in program history to earn Academic All-America® honors and the first Colonial in any sport since 2022 to receive the distinction.
A Health Science major, Poulich maintained a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA throughout her undergraduate career. She earned CSC Academic All-District® recognition three times and was a two-time selection to the Horizon League All-Academic Team during her junior and senior seasons.
On the field, Poulich capped a historic senior campaign by being named the 2026 Horizon League Player of the Year. She also earned All-League First Team honors for the second time in her career and was selected to the NFCA All-Region Second Team.
Starting all 49 games this season, Poulich established new RMU and Horizon League single-season records with 25 home runs and 88 RBIs. She finished the year batting .436 with a .523 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage.
Nationally, Poulich ranked first in runs per game (1.57) and second in RBIs per game (1.80). She also finished fourth in total RBIs (88), fifth in home runs per game (0.51), seventh in home runs (25) and eighth in slugging percentage (1.000).
Poulich concluded her career as RMU's all-time leader in home runs (47), RBIs (161) and runs scored (141).
Since 2004, RMU has produced 16 CSC Academic All-America® selections across all sports. Four student-athletes have earned the honor multiple times.
