INDIANAPOLIS – RMU softball senior
Courtney Poulich has been selected as the Horizon League Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Season, recognizing her outstanding accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom.
The Horizon League recognizes student-athletes at the conclusion of each athletic season with Scholar-Athlete of the Season honors. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be selected to their sports' respective All-Academic Team. Winners are chosen by the League's faculty athletics representatives based on a combination of academic and athletic achievement.
Poulich is one of six seasonal honorees who will now be considered for the Horizon League Scholar-Athlete of the Year award.
"I'm incredibly honored and grateful to be named the Horizon League Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Season," said Poulich. "Thank you to RMU for providing me with four unforgettable years of growth, opportunity and support both on and off the field. I'm extremely thankful for my coaches, teammates, professors and support staff who pushed me to be my best every single day. I could not have done it without them."
A standout in the classroom, Poulich is a two-time Horizon League All-Academic Team selection and a three-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honoree. Earlier this week, she was named to the CSC Academic All-America® Second Team, becoming the first RMU student-athlete to earn Academic All-America recognition since 2022.
Poulich graduated with a degree in Health Science and a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average.
On the field, Poulich authored one of the most decorated seasons in program and conference history. She set Horizon League single-season records with 25 home runs and 88 RBIs while helping lead the Colonials to a runner-up finish in the Horizon League Championship.
She concluded her career as RMU's all-time leader in home runs (47), RBIs (161) and runs scored (141).
For her efforts in 2026, Poulich was named Horizon League Player of the Year, earned All-Horizon League First Team honors, was selected to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team and garnered NFCA All-Region Second Team recognition.
Over her four-year career, Poulich was a two-time All-Horizon League First Team selection and earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors four times. She also collected D1Softball Mid-Major Player of the Week accolades during her senior campaign.
