8/18/2026 12:00:00 PM

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Under the leadership of head coach Jonathan Potter, the RMU men's soccer team will be led by senior Josh Lane and junior Miguel Dominguez as captains for the 2026 campaign.

Lane, a native of Leicester, England, enters his second season wearing the captain's band. The senior goalkeeper has established himself as one of the most accomplished goalkeepers in program history.

In 2024, he earned United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Third Team, Horizon League All-League Second Team and Horizon League All-Tournament Team honors. This past season, he was recognized on the conference's Third Team and earned another spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Throughout his career, Lane has also been named Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week once and earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week once.

"I'm really excited to lead the group this year," said Lane. "With a good core of returners and a great incoming class full of talent, I feel we have a great unit to compete at the top end of the table this year and hopefully bring another championship to RMU soccer."

Dominguez, a native of Córdoba, Mexico, was named a captain heading into his junior season. After transferring to RMU last season, Dominguez immediately made an impact both on the field and within the team.

In his first season with the Colonials, he appeared in 12 games while making 11 starts. During the Horizon League Tournament, Dominguez played all 90 minutes in matches against Milwaukee and Cleveland State.

This summer, Dominguez remained local while gaining additional experience at a high level, competing with Riverhounds 2 in USL League Two.

"Being named a captain of this team is a true honor," said Dominguez. "Becoming a captain was a goal I set for myself from the very first day I arrived at RMU, so having this opportunity means a lot to me. I'm ready to give everything I have for this team and support this talented group of players who have so much heart. I'm excited to lead this group, fight for each other and do everything we can to have a successful season, and of course, win a conference championship."

RMU officially begins its 2026 season Thursday, August 20, hosting Drexel at 4:00 p.m. at the North Athletic Complex.
