Eubanks’ First Career Goal Lifts RMU to Victory

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Freshman Brady Eubanks netted his first career goal, scoring the game-winning tally in the 72nd minute to lift RMU men's soccer to a 2-1 victory over Waynesburg Thursday afternoon. The Colonials improve to 2-1 to begin the 2026 season.

FIRST HALF
Just five minutes into the match, Waynesburg earned a free kick just outside the 18-yard box. Off the ensuing cross, Josh Smith put a shot off the post and into the net to give the Yellow Jackets an early 1-0 lead.

Despite the early deficit, Waynesburg would not record another shot on goal the rest of the match.

RMU controlled much of the remainder of the half, recording six shots but unable to find the equalizer before halftime.

SECOND HALF
The Colonials came out firing in the second half, creating several high-danger opportunities, including close chances from Eubanks and Riley Cotton that were turned away.

RMU finally broke through in the 68th minute. Giovanni Dennis played a perfectly placed ball over the Waynesburg backline and into the path of Joaquin Fazal. Fazal took a touch before slotting his shot into the bottom-left corner to even the score at 1-1.

Just four minutes later, the Colonials took the lead.

Following a strong passing sequence from Jonah Geike and John Krug, the duo set up Eubanks at the top of the box. The freshman hammered a left-footed shot into the back of the net to give RMU its first lead of the afternoon and score his first career goal.

After taking the lead, the Colonials locked down defensively, not allowing Waynesburg to record another shot attempt as RMU held on for the 2-1 victory.
