Colonials Battle Eastern Michigan to Scoreless Draw

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team battled Eastern Michigan to a hard-fought 0-0 draw Sunday afternoon at the North Athletic Complex. The Colonials are now 1-3-1 overall on the season.

FIRST HALF
Eastern Michigan came out aggressively, recording six shots within the opening 15 minutes as the Eagles looked to establish control early. RMU's defense weathered the early pressure, keeping EMU off the scoreboard.

The Colonials nearly broke through in the 28th minute when Ava Trethewey put a shot toward goal, but the attempt sailed just wide of the net.

RMU continued to defend against the Eagles' pressure as the half progressed, with neither team able to find the breakthrough. Bailey Campbell was issued a yellow card in the 44th minute as the physical battle continued.

After 45 minutes of play, the two sides remained scoreless.

SECOND HALF
Eastern Michigan continued to generate chances coming out of halftime, but RMU goalkeeper Emma Cameron stood tall in net, turning away each attempt that came her way.

The Eagles came inches away from taking the lead in the 65th minute when Ciara Brown fired a shot from distance that struck the crossbar and stayed out.

RMU's defense continued to battle as the match became increasingly physical. Eastern Michigan received yellow cards in the 72nd and 85th minutes as both teams fought for possession and field position.
