MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU men's soccer head coach
Jonathan Potter has announced the addition of 15 newcomers to the Colonials' roster for the 2026 season. The incoming class features 11 freshmen and four transfers, including six international student-athletes representing four countries and three local products from the Pittsburgh area.
TRANSFERS
Van Schmid | Defender | Junior | North Miami, Fla.
Schmid arrives at RMU after spending the past two seasons at Barry University, where he appeared in 13 matches with four starts while totaling 469 minutes. Prior to his collegiate career, he played club soccer for Inter Miami FC and represented Haiti on its U17 and U20 National Teams.
Filip Jeppesen | Defender | Redshirt Sophomore | Hjørring, Denmark
Jeppesen joins the Colonials from Lincoln Memorial University after appearing in 18 matches over two seasons. He totaled one goal and two assists while logging 1,178 minutes on the back line. Before coming to the United States, Jeppesen competed for Denmark's U17 National Team and played club soccer with Aalborg BK.
Callum Doyle Travers | Defender | Redshirt Freshman | Dublin, Ireland
Travers transfers to RMU after one season at Seton Hall. A product of Ireland's youth system, he played club soccer for Shamrock Rovers FC, serving as team captain, and helped Shelbourne FC capture the League of Ireland U17 Championship. Travers also earned his first international cap with Ireland's U18 National Team, competing against England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Nicholas Samways | Midfielder | Redshirt Freshman | Loveland, Ohio
Samways joins the Colonials from Northern Kentucky. During the offseason, he competed for Union FC Macomb in the USL League Two. Before college, he trained and played with FC Cincinnati, Columbus Crew and Cincinnati United Premier.
FRESHMEN
Brady Eubanks | Midfielder | Harmony, Pa.
A local standout from Seneca Valley High School, Eubanks helped lead the Raiders to a PIAA Championship in 2022. He earned All-District and All-Section honors while also helping Beadling SC capture the 2024 State Cup title.
Oscar Bech | Defender | Askov, Denmark
Bech captained Kolding IF and helped guide the club to its first-ever U19 Division championship during the 2022-23 season. Playing as a defender, he contributed one goal and 11 assists this past season.
Aiden Bernklau-Wostl | Forward | Chicago, Ill.
Bernklau-Wostl attended school in Texas while competing for FC Dallas. He scored 45 goals over a three-year span, including 25 during his junior season. He also competed in Spain's prestigious MIC Cup, where he faced Borussia Dortmund.
Jonah Geike | Midfielder | Frankfurt, Germany
Geike developed through the Eintracht Frankfurt and Walldorf systems. He reached the Hessian Cup Final and helped capture the German U17 Championship.
Ian Thomas | Midfielder | Winter Garden, Fla.
Thomas played for Ideasport SA and Florida Rush in MLS NEXT competition. During his youth career, he was selected as MLS NEXT Player of the Week four times.
Bryan Sam | Midfielder/Forward | Bronx, N.Y.
Sam starred at Cardinal Hayes High School, helping lead the program to conference championships in 2021 and 2025. He was named team MVP in both 2023 and 2025 and recorded 12 goals and four assists during his senior season.
Joaquin Fazal | Midfielder/Forward | Frankfurt, Germany
Fazal played for SV Rot-Weiss Walldorf in Germany, where he totaled seven goals and 15 assists across 33 matches.
David Ayeh | Defender | Cranbury, N.J.
Ayeh captained CSA Monmouth in MLS NEXT competition for two seasons and earned All-Star honors at the 2025 MLS NEXT Fest. He has also trained and competed in Denmark while earning a trial with the New York Red Bulls.
Mason Bizyak | Forward | Pittsburgh, Pa.
A Peters Township High School product, Bizyak competed for Beadling SC in MLS NEXT and FC Cincinnati's Academy. He qualified for MLS NEXT Flex three times and led Beadling with 18 goals during the 2024-25 season.
Alessandro Camatta | Defender | Torino, Italy
Camatta brings international experience after developing with Torino FC, ASD Asti, Lokomotiv Moscow and Galatasaray. During his youth career, he won the Torneo Mamma Papa Cairo Tournament, finished as runner-up in the Russian National Tournament and placed third at the Moscow Winter Championships.
Sam Wessel | Goalkeeper | Jefferson Hills, Pa.
Wessel arrives from Thomas Jefferson High School after an accomplished prep career. He earned three All-Section selections, two All-WPIAL honors, was twice named Mon Valley Independent Goalkeeper of the Year and received Post-Gazette Fab 11 recognition. He also competed for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds Academy.
