MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's soccer team is set to host a pair of Horizon League contests this week. The Colonials welcome Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday, September 24 at 3:00 PM at the AHN Montour Junction Sports Complex before hosting Cleveland State on Sunday, September 27 at 1:00 PM at the North Athletic Complex. Thursday's match will stream live on YouTube, while Sunday's contest will be available on ESPN+.
 
RMU LATELY
RMU (3-4-1, 0-1-0 #HLWSOC) enters the week following its first Horizon League contest of the season. The Colonials fell 1-0 at Wright State on Saturday, recording five shots on goal in the second half but were unable to find the equalizer. Goalkeeper Emma Cameron made three saves in the contest.
 
Through eight games, senior forward Madison Sievering leads the Colonials with two goals, two assists and six points. Senior captain Ava Trethewey and junior defender Alyssa Mella have each recorded two assists. Senior captain Shauna Gamble has played every minute of the season, logging 720 minutes on the pitch. In goal, Cameron has recorded three wins and three shutouts while posting a .815 save percentage.
 
ALL-TIME VS. PURDUE FORT WAYNE
RMU and Purdue Fort Wayne have met nine times since 2015, with the Mastodons holding a 5-3-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Colonials have found success in the last two meetings, earning 3-0 and 2-0 victories over PFW in the previous two seasons.
 
Trethewey scored three goals across those two contests, while Bailey Campbell and Ivy Chaskelson each recorded an assist.
 
SCOUTING THE MASTODONS
PFW (1-6-1, 0-1-0 #HLWSOC) is also coming off its first conference game of the season. The Mastodons fell 3-0 at Detroit Mercy after earning their first win of the season in their previous outing, a 3-0 victory at Saint Xavier.
 
Through eight games, five different players have found the back of the net, while two players have recorded an assist. Redshirt freshman Maggie  Marlin leads the team with 572 minutes played. PFW has split time between three goalkeepers this season. Freshman Aimee Abraham earned the Mastodons' lone win, while redshirt sophomore Sam Christle has recorded one shutout and leads the team with 18 saves and a .720 save percentage.
 
ALL-TIME VS. CLEVELAND STATE
RMU is 4-7-1 all-time against Cleveland State but has remained unbeaten in the last three meetings. The Colonials and Vikings played to a 1-1 draw last season, while RMU earned 1-0 and 2-1 victories in the two meetings prior.
 
Against Cleveland State in her career, Trethewey has recorded one goal and one assist, while Gamble has produced two assists.
 
SCOUTING THE VIKINGS
CSU (1-7-0, 1-0-0 #HLWSOC) enters Sunday's contest after earning its first win of the season, a 2-0 victory at Oakland. The win also marked Cleveland State's first two goals of the season, with both coming from sophomore Ryleigh Alcala.
 
Senior defender Nikolina Miskovic leads the Vikings with 677 minutes played through eight games. In goal, fifth-year Hayleigh Lewis has started six contests, recording one win, one shutout and 19 saves with a .594 save percentage.
 
COMMON OPPONENTS
Outside of Horizon League play, Cleveland State has faced Akron and Duquesne this season, falling 2-0 to the Zips and 3-0 to the Dukes.
 
Earlier this season, RMU defeated Akron 1-0, and earned a 1-0 exhibition victory over Duquesne. Sievering scored the game-winning goal against Akron, while Julia Becerra provided the game-winner against Duquesne.
