MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Junior midfielder
Fiona Fraser scored the game-winning goal with 15 minutes remaining in the match to lead RMU to a 1-0 victory over Cleveland State on Sunday. With the win, the Colonials improve to 5-4-1 overall and 2-1 in Horizon League play.
FIRST HALF
After Cleveland State created a few opportunities early, the Colonials settled into their game and began generating chances of their own.
Ava Trethewey and
Morgan Gesinski each recorded well-struck shots from distance, but both attempts were saved by the Vikings goalkeeper.
In the closing minutes of the half,
Shauna Gamble nearly opened the scoring off a corner kick, but her shot was stopped at the back post. After 45 minutes, neither side had found the back of the net.
SECOND HALF
Seven minutes into the second half,
Emma Cameron came up with a big stop on a Cleveland State free kick to keep the match scoreless.
Later in the half,
Joey Tomlinson provided a spark off the bench for the Colonials. She recorded two shots that narrowly missed the net.
Finally, in the 76th minute, the Colonials broke through with the game-winning goal. Dribbling down the left wing,
Madison Sievering sent a cross into the box, where Tomlinson laid the ball off to Fraser. Fraser finished the chance to give RMU a 1-0 lead.
After conceding the goal, the Vikings pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but Cameron was there to deny every opportunity. Her biggest save of the afternoon came in the 88th minute, when she made a diving stop on a free kick to preserve the RMU victory.

- RMU outshot Cleveland State, 12-9, while the Vikings held a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
- Both teams recorded four corner kicks. Cleveland State was called for eight fouls, while RMU was whistled for four.
- Shauna Gamble, Bailey Campbell, Julia Becerra and Fiona Fraser each played all 90 minutes for the Colonials.
- Sievering now leads the team with four assists and eight points this season.

Senior goalkeeper
Emma Cameron earned her second consecutive clean sheet, making five saves in the victory. She has now earned nine wins in her career, with all nine coming via shutout. Cameron has made 28 saves this season while posting an .848 save percentage.
COLONIAL FIRST
Senior midfielder
Joey Tomlinson recorded her first career assist on the game-winning goal. The Perkasie, Pa. native has now appeared in 31 games during her RMU career.
