Colonial Huddle Episode 1

Announcing "The Colonial Huddle" Newsletter 📣

RMU Athletics is pleased to announce the launch of our new online newsletter, The Colonial Huddle.

This newsletter will be a core priority strategy for consistent communication and engagement with our key target audiences: current and prospective students, alumni, parents of student-athletes, the local Pittsburgh community, potential donors, and media.

We believe The Colonial Huddle will significantly enhance our ability to celebrate student-athlete success, promote our programs, foster school spirit, and drive engagement across the entire Colonial community.

Prather Leads Team USA at 3x3 Nations League Championship 🏀

In March, RMU guard Ryan Prather Jr. led the RMU Men's Basketball program to its first-ever Horizon League championship, punching the Colonials' ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

Fast forward to July, Prather led  the United States' 3x3 Nations League Team to a first place finish in the Americas Conference World Cup qualifying tournament in Punta Arenas, Chile.

The Americans finished with a record of 12-2, securing first place in four of the six three-team mini-tournaments. Team USA accumulated 560 tournament points, 100 points ahead of second-place Canada.

The 3x3 game is played on a half court with a 10-minute clock and a 12-second shot clock. The first team to 21 points, or the team in the lead at the end of regulation, is the winner.

Prather averaged 6.0 points per game and recorded a personal-best 12 points in USA's 22-13 win over Canada in Stop 4.

RMU Lacrosse Stars Shine at U20 World Championship🥍

In August, RMU's Men's Lacrosse players Zach Tucker and Callum Witter played in the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship on Jeju Island in South Korea.

Tucker, representing Canada, led their upset of the United States, 6-5, for the country's first-ever men's U20 championship, which snapped a streak of nine gold medals for the Americans.

In the six matches, Tucker anchored a defense that only allowed 5.0 goals per game. He finished the six-game event with five ground balls and a caused turnover.

Witter, who represented the Netherlands, finished the event with 13 goals, nine assists and six ground balls in five matches. The Netherlands finished in 11th place.
