Clearview Arena

Located within the 32-acre RMU Island Sports Center on Neville Island, Clearview Arena serves as the primary home for the Robert Morris University men's and women's NCAA Division I ice hockey programs. Originally opened in 1998, the facility was purchased by RMU in 2004 to house its emerging hockey programs. The arena has become a cornerstone of the Pittsburgh hockey community, providing a high-energy environment for collegiate, amateur, and professional athletes alike.

The venue has undergone several identity changes throughout its history. Originally the RMU Island Sports Center Ice Arena, it was known as 84 Lumber Arena from 2012 to 2017 before reverting to Colonials Arena. On October 13, 2020, Robert Morris University and Clearview Federal Credit Union announced a premier partnership that officially renamed the rink Clearview Arena. This collaboration brought major aesthetic upgrades, including new scoreboards, updated marquee signage, and branded walkways that highlight the credit union's commitment to the RMU Athletics family.

Historic milestones at the arena include the inaugural men's home game on October 23, 2004, and the program's first home victory—a 3-1 win over Bentley—just one week later. The arena also celebrated the reinstatement of both the men's and women's programs for the 2023-24 season, a return fueled by an unprecedented "Hockey is the Goal" fundraising campaign.

Beyond NCAA competition, the arena is a multi-purpose powerhouse. It serves as home ice for RMU's four club hockey programs and the university’s roller hockey team. The facility also hosts the Pittsburgh Curling Club and serves as a premier destination for local youth and amateur hockey leagues. With its standard NHL-dimension ice surface and a seating arrangement positioned entirely on one side of the rink, the arena offers 1,200 fans an intimate and unobstructed view of the action.

The fan experience is complemented by the Island Sports Center’s extensive amenities. Spectators have access to the IceHouse Bistro, which offers a variety of Starbucks products and premium concession fare. The complex also features the RMU Island Sports Pro Shop, catering to ice hockey, inline hockey, and figure skating needs, ensuring that Clearview Arena remains the region's premier sports and recreation destination.
