In his third season at RMU as a member of the coaching staff is Donnie Militzer. Serving as defensive quality control the last two seasons, he moves to the other side of the ball and offensive quality control.
 
In 2019, Militzer assisted the Colonials as they posted their first winning season in almost 10 years with an overall record of 7-5 (.587), including a mark of 6-1 (.833) in the Northeast Conference (NEC).
 
Militzer joined the RMU coaching staff after a successful coaching career at the high school level. He was the head coach at Charleroi from 2014 to 2017, leading the Cougars to an overall record of 9-1 (.900) in 2017, the program’s best record in 20 years. Militzer has also had coaching stints at Gateway, Bishop Canevin, Peters Township and Carlynton.
 
In the collegiate ranks, Militzer served as an assistant coach at both Carnegie Mellon and Washington & Jefferson.
 
Militzer, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from RMU in 2004. He has spent the last 16 years as an educator with the Diocese of Pittsburgh and is in his 10th year as a principal, including his third at St. Gabriel’s in Whitehall.
