John French enters his third season with RMU in 2025. He serves as the as the offensive pass game coordinator and tutors the RMU wide receivers.
French joined the RMU coaching staff after spending the last three seasons as an offensive quality control coach at Army West Point. During his time at the United States Military Academy, French was responsible for weekly scouting reports and the creation of the offensive playbook. French also ran statistical analysis of future opponents and assisted in all scout breakdowns of opponents. He also assisted in recruiting at Army West Point, evaluating film and executing visits for potential recruits.
Prior to serving as offensive quality control at Army West Point, French served as a graduate assistant coach at Kentucky. While a graduate assistant, French assisted in all facets of recruiting while also helping coach the quarterbacks.
French, who earned a bachelor’s degree from Kentucky in business management in 2019, served as a student assistant coach during his undergrad tenure for four years with the Wildcats. He assisted in the day-to-day operations, experiencing every facet of the program, and was also awarded the Trent DiGiuro Memorial Scholarship, which is handed out by the UK athletic department for dedication, determination, academics and leadership.
