The 2024 season marks the third for Josh Firm as a member of the coaching staff at RMU as well as his second as offensive coordinator.
Firm joined the Colonials after spending four seasons at Morgan State. He served as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for the Bears in 2018 and 2019 before spending two years as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
During Firm’s time as offensive coordinator at Morgan State, the Bears set four school records, including points in a game. While serving as recruiting coordinator, Firm spearheaded a recruiting class in 2019 that was ranked the fourth best in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) ranks according to HERO Sports.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at Morgan State, Firm spent two years at Wyoming. He began his tenure with the Cowboys as a recruiting graduate assistant during the 2015 season before coaching the offensive line as a graduate assistant coach in 2016.
Firm is a 2013 graduate of Missouri University of Science and Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Business and Information Systems degree. He played for the football program at quarterback before moving into a student coaching role, tutoring the running backs during the 2013 season.
At the conclusion of his tenure with the Miners, Firm, a native of Lancaster, Calif., headed to Lyon Area, France, where he served as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Bron-Villeurbanne Falcons of the French D3 American Football Championship.
In addition to his undergraduate degree from Missouri University of Science and Technology, Firm owns a Master of Science degree in instructional technology from Wyoming.
