Mason Werner

In his second season at RMU as football data analyst is Mason Werner.

In his first season with the Colonials in 2019, RMU posted an overall record of 7-5 (.587), including a mark of 6-1 (.833) in the Northeast Conference (NEC). The Colonials recorded their first winning season in almost 10 years.
 
Werner joined the RMU staff after spending the last two seasons at West Liberty. While with the Hilltoppers, Werner served as a defensive graduate assistant, coaching the defensive line. In addition to his coaching duties at West Liberty, Werner served as the program’s academic supervisor, recruiting assistant and data analyst. In addition to his duties as a graduate assistant, Werner served as an adjunct professor in the College of Education and Human Performance.
 
Werner, a native of Wheeling, W. Va., earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in health education and physical education from West Liberty in 2014. He spent the 2016 and 2017 seasons as an assistant at Wheeling Central Catholic High School, serving as the offensive and defensive line coach in 2016 before coaching the running backs and linebackers in 2017. In addition, Werner served as the head coach of the junior varsity team for Wheeling Central Catholic in 2017.
 
In addition to earning an undergraduate degree at West Liberty, Werner also earned a Master of Arts degree in education at the institution in 2019.
