In his third full season with the RMU men’s basketball program as director of basketball performance is Dennis Cuturic, who joined the staff in December of 2017. In his role with the Colonials, Cuturic oversees all strength & conditioning of RMU basketball student-athletes as well as guidance in proper nutrition and sleep patterns.
 
Cuturic joined the RMU staff after spending seven years in the same capacity at Duquesne. While with the Dukes, he developed and implemented year round physical and mental performance training for both the men’s and women’s programs. He helped coordinate and scheduled nutrition education throughout the season.
 
Prior to joining the Duquesne staff, Cuturic served as an assistant strength & conditioning coach with Cleveland State during the 2009-10 season. In his role with the Vikings, Cuturic assisted and developed programs for the men’s and women’s basketball, softball, volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s golf teams. He oversaw and supervised all weight room training, including Olympic weight lifting techniques, plyometrics, power, speed, agility and functional assessment while also assisting in nutrition education.
 
Cuturic got his career started at Utah State University during the 2008-09 campaign, serving as the head graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach for the Aggies. It was at Utah State that Cuturic earned a Master of Science in health and human movement in 2010. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Cuturic earned a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science in 2007 from Cleveland State.
 
A former basketball player, Cuturic spent two years as a member of the Croatian National Basketball League with KK Zrinjevac and KK Karlovac from 2000 to 2002. He played point guard.
 
Cuturic and his wife, Jacquelyn, reside in Coraopolis, Pa., with their sons, Ilija and Neven, and their daughter, Quinn.
