The 2025-26 campaign marks the seventh season for Matthew Sweet at RMU. in May 2025, he was promoted to Assistant Coach / Chief of Staff after serving the porevious three years as Director of Basketball Operations. He began his time as video coordinator for the first three seasons. Â

Sweet joined RMU after spending the two seasons as a graduate assistant with the men's basketball program at the University of Dayton. In his role with the Flyers, Sweet served as the video coordinator, breaking down and editing film and preparing scouting reports.
While at Dayton, Sweet was also the assistant camp director for Dayton Basketball Camps in the summers of 2017 and 2018. Sweet earned a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management from Dayton in 2017 as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2019.
Sweet spent two seasons as the head manager with the Flyers from 2015-17 and was a student manager for three years. He also spent the summers of 2015 and 2016 as an intern with the Hoop Group, assisting in daily operations of camps ranging from 400 to 800 participants.
