In his second season with the Colonials during the 2023-24 campaign as video coordinator is Martino Pepe. As part of his duties with the program, Pepe breaks down video of practices and games and assists in scouting for the program.
 
Pepe joined the RMU staff after spending two seasons as the director of skill development for Team Melo of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL). While with Team Melo, Pepe, born in Denver, Colo., but raised in Fairfield County, Conn., served as an assistant coach with all three Team Melo programs for boys age 15 to 17. He assisted with player development with some of the most talented players in the country, helping the Team Melo U17 team qualify for the Peach Jam in 2022.
 
While also working with Team Melo, Pepe spent three seasons in Lanham, Md., as assistant coach and player of development in at Mount Zion Prep. During the 2021-22 season, Mount Zion finished with an overall record of 26-10 (.722) and advanced to the Elite 8 of the national prep championship tournament. In addition at Mount Zion, Pepe ran all individual and team workouts regarding player development.
 
During the 2018-19 season, Pepe served as the head coach of the St. John’s club basketball during the 2018-19 season, recruiting the largest freshman roster in National Club Basketball Association (NCBBA) history.
 
Pepe also owns prep experience with both Team Footprintz in Jamaica, N.Y., from 2016 to 2019 and Bethel High School in Bethel, Conn., from 2016 to 2018.
 
A 2022 graduate of St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Science degree in sport management, Pepe also is an advocate for autism awareness, having running multiple 5K races in California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts and Washington, D.C.
