    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Ben Tackett is entering his second season as a volunteer assistant coach at Robert Morris University in 2021 after joining the program in January of 2020.

RMU went 4-2 in the abbreviated 2020 campaign, which was cut short after six games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Colonials defeated Canisius on the road, 22-10, to open the season, and finished the year with consecutive wins against High Point (15-11), Detroit Mercy (16-13), and Marquette (11-10).

Tackett played his collegiate lacrosse at the Rochester Institute of Technology from 2015-18, where he was a short-stick defensive midfielder. He was selected as a team captain as a senior and earned Intercollegiate Men’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) East Region Defensive Player of the Year and Honorable Mention All-American plaudits. A two-time All-Liberty League selection, Tackett recorded 45 points (24g, 21a), 159 groundballs, and 51 caused turnovers in 64 career games.  Tackett helped lead the Tigers to four LL titles, three NCAA Tournament Final Four appearances, and a runner-up finish in 2017.

Locally, the Butler, Pa. native spent last season as the offensive coordinator for Hampton High School, and helped guide the Talbots to a WPIAL runner-up finish.

A four-time Liberty League All-Academic selection and 2018 Academic All-American, Tackett graduated Magna Cum Laude from RIT in the spring of 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology.
