Championships:
- 2019 NEC Tournament (Asst. Coach)

Brandon Mangan completed his third season as an assistant coach of the Robert Morris University men’s lacrosse team in 2021 after joining the program in September of 2018.

Playing as an independent in 2021, the Colonials finished the season with a 7-6 record. RMU defeated four of its future ASUN Conference foes in Air Force (14-13), Bellarmine (17-8), Cleveland State (15-7), and Utah (16-12), and took both No. 1 Duke (12-16) and No. 9 Virginia (12-14) to the brink in their respective matchups. The Colonials’ schedule featured 10 true road contests and an 11th as a neutral-site bout in Rock Hill, S.C. for the Crown Lacrosse Classic. Mangan closed the 2021 campaign by coaching alongside Andrew McMinn and Sean Doyle at the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division I/II All-Star Game for the South team.

RMU went 4-2 in the abbreviated 2020 campaign, which was cut short after six games due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Colonials defeated Canisius on the road, 22-10, to open the season, and finished the year with consecutive wins against High Point (15-11), Detroit Mercy (16-13), and Marquette (11-10).

In his first season at Robert Morris, Mangan helped the team defend its Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament crown. The Colonials finished the year with a 9-8 overall record and 4-2 mark in league play, moving onto their second straight NCAA Tournament with a 9-8 triumph over Hobart in the NEC Championship Game.

Prior to arriving in Moon Township, Mangan served as a volunteer assistant coach at Hofstra for two seasons. In 2017, he helped guide the Pride to a 10-0 start, its best in program history. The team finished 11-3 overall, narrowly missing the NCAA Tournament. Mangan coached the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Year (Ryan Tierney) and CAA Player of the Year (Josh Byrne) that season, and coached three All-Americans during his tenure at Hofstra.

Meanwhile, he has played professionally, most recently suiting up with the Chesapeake Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) in 2018. A five-year MLL veteran, Mangan also played for the New York Lizards in 2014, the Florida Launch in 2015 and the Ohio Machine 2016-18. He has tallied 15 goals and five assists in 20 career games and appeared on the winning side of the 2017 MLL Championship Game with the Machine, coached by original Robert Morris men's head coach Kenneth "Bear" Davis.

Mangan, a 2014 Yale University graduate, was a USILA Honorable Mention All-American as a junior, a two-time All-New England First Team selection and an All-Ivy League Second Team pick during his four years with the Bulldogs. He played an integral role on back-to-back Ivy League championship squads 2012-13, and in 2013, Mangan led Yale to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the first time in 20 years. He finished his collegiate playing career with 178 points on 99 goals and 79 assists, which remains among the top ten in Yale history.

After earning his bachelor's degree in political science in international relations from Yale, he served as the assistant boys' lacrosse coach at Farmingdale (N.Y.) High School 2015-16, working as an offensive coordinator for the 'Dalers.
